San Jose luxury homes represent the top ten percent of the real estate for sale here. While many of our higher priced homes are selling they are not considered luxury. By comparison to other areas of the country, San Jose real estate is priced higher. Kathleen Daniels keeps her fingers on the pulse of San Jose real estate market trends, to help keep her sellers informed.
Markets constantly change. We’ve talked before about pricing homes using automated home value methods and why you are best advised to trust a local real estate broker, not a computer generated house value. As your agent we’ll establish a price based on what buyers are telling us your home should be worth. We achieve this by looking for comparable property sales but also knowing how the market is shifting. Pricing your home correctly at the start results in a faster sale, no matter the state of the current market.
The History of San Jose California
Founded in 1777, San Jose is the site of the oldest civil settlement in California. All land and property became incorporated real estate on March 27, 1850. It was California’s first incorporated city and site of the first state capital. It is comprised of 177.7 square miles of beautiful California real estate. The city is approximately 45 minutes south of San Francisco and 90 minutes north of Monterey. It is the third largest city in California and the 11th largest city in the nation.
People who buy homes for sale in Northern California and San José in particular have a world-renowned quality of life. The City of San José has the nation’s best public safety record of any metropolitan area, a marvelous ethnic diversity and a beautiful climate; in other words- it’s a lovely place to own a home. The Metropolitan Area ranks first in the nation in median household effective buying income among all metropolitan areas. Choose Your Lifestyle
The Bay area of California opens up a world of different lifestyles and while San Jose may not be able to offer much in the way of oceanfront properties there are some areas with Bay front. Regardless it’s not too far to have a boat if you’re a lover of the water.
Our area offers condo living, for a low maintenance lifestyle. We also have town homes, country club homes, luxury homes, equestrian properties and single family homes with gorgeous mountains and valleys as views. Need acreage? Several areas offer homes on acreage, so if space is what you crave, take a peak at the Evergreen and Almaden Valley areas.
There are not very many San Jose new homes, you may find individual builds where older homes are torn down. If new construction is what you need, connect with me direct for a email list of new homes. The same is true for waterfront homes and homes with features you desire such as:
- Equestrian paddocks and barns
- In law arrangements
- Main level condos
- First floor master bedrooms
- First floor bathrooms
- Investment properties
- Probate homes
- Homes to fix and flip
Beyond the city we have mountains, valleys, state parks, and many open spaces to explore. There’s no shortage of places to hike, you can climb Mount Hamilton, ride bikes or visit the Bay area National Wildlife Preserve.
